Great Podcasts

Here's a list of podcasts I've listened to and loved. I just love educational podcasts.

  1. Dan Carlin's Hardcore History: I love this podcast. I've been listening to his description of the Khans. Truth is I've always hated history (I know Alysa - le gasp), and this podcast is very fun to listen to.
  2. History of English: I like this one because I love hearing where words come from. Sort of long, but it's still fun to listen to.
  3. TEDTalks: Very varied topics, but always great to listen to.
  4. Marriam-Webster's Word of the Day: usually words I don't know and very good descriptions. I use this for my vocabulary list on the side of my page.
  5. 60-Second Science: always non-technical basic news reports on science, but fun to listen to (and short)
  6. One Minute Language: Many languages and just the basic. I use this to keep the language learning side of my brain active. Currently I'm listening to:
    1. Arabic
    2. Japanese
    3. Gaelic
    4. French
  7. Quick and Dirty Tips: They cover almost everything and usually it's applicable to my daily life. So I love to listen to them and it seems I like to post about them too.
    1. Everyday Einstein: haven't listened to much but he sounds like fun. You should check out his Christmas poem.
    2. Get-Fit Guy: listened to a few and he sure sounds helpful
    3. Grammar Girl: the original one I listened to - so helpful, short, and fun to listen to
    4. Legal Lad: talks about stuff applicable to me and since I know nothing about legal stuff it's sounds great
    5. Math Dude: haven't listened to any, but I have high hopes
    6. Modern Manners: haven't listened to any, but I have high hopes
    7. Money Girl: so far not much has applied to me, but I'm still hanging in there
    8. Nutrition Diva: so far not much has applied to me, but I'm still hanging in there
