Hawaii: Episode 2 - farmer's market

So today's been great! Because of the time change I was able to get Andrew awake at 4 am. We lazied around for a while then got ready and went to breakfast . . . Which we then decided not to do. The breakfast at the hotel cost like $20 per person and had the same selection as a free continental breakfast at other hotels. So we skipped breakfast and went to the farmer's market. Which was amazing! I'll take a picture of our spoils later. Basically we bought everything that looked weird. Andrew and I can't remember what a passion fruit looks like. Help? Also we have a mystery fruit that Andrew's looking for. It's hard and when you crack it open and it's gooey inside. He says he remembers it tasting like a grape. Help? While walking around a random guy gave us a mountain apple (which I would rename as a mountain pear) so we bought a fruit drink from him. Which also tasted really good. It rained. We got wet. Then dried and bought a loco moco for breakfast. How i have never heard of this food item that is so obviously normal here seems incomprehensible. It's rice with gravy, two eggs, and some kind of meat. Then we went to the Lyman's museum which I know our resident geologist Stina would have loved. Since I messed up the directions we ended up walking .3 miles up a huge hill. On our way we saw the magical apple and of course had to go into the store. It's was just a retailer so we walked right back out. The museum had a cultural exhibit, volcano exhibit, ecosystem exhibit (which alysa would love - 11 ecosystems on one mountain), and best of all a huge gem collection. Now we're sitting at Café 100. I'm eating another loco moco. (this time with bacon). I'm apparently very attached to this new food. Andrew however was lured in by the "magic meal". Obviously magic means something cool right? A disappointed Andrew discovered that he had really ordered a kid's meal when he discovered his prize pictured below. TA-TA-for-now!
